For a deep skin cleansing – try Clarasonic

July 22nd, 2010 by Amanda Filed under: Blog | Comment (0)

After long days of shooting…I feel like my skin is caked on with my makeup. I hate it and need something to deep clean my skin and pores.

“Clarisonic is the sonic technology proven to gently yet effectively loosen dirt and oil to clear your pores. The Clarisonic Cleansing System uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth your skin. In just 60 seconds a day, the Clarisonic micro-massage action cleans more than twice as effectively as manual cleansing.”
Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Benefits:

* Removes 6x more makeup than manual cleansing
* Leaves skin feeling and looking smoother
* Cleanses so well that products absorb better
* Gentle enough for twice daily use
* Helps reduce oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes
* Helps reduce the appearance of visible pores
* Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

I bought the Plus one cause it came with some extras for the face & body! But they also have a pink one that the proceeds benefit breast cancer awareness. (I wanted that one but it was all out.) They also sell a his & hers pair in pink & black, the classic white, and the mia – a smaller, travel size. I first heard about the Clarasonic through my bestie who was raving about it at Sephora. I’m so in love with it!!! My skin feels so smooth each time I cleanse. Also makes a great gift – you can get them personalized.

If you do a little research online, they sell Clarasonic on Amazon and other sites at a discounted price.

St. Louis to Chicago high-speed rail route

July 21st, 2010 by Amanda Filed under: Blog | Comment (1)

St. Louis (KSDK) — An estimated 900 jobs will be generated from the construction of the high-speed rail route from St. Louis to Chicago.

Construction will begin in early September on a 90-mile segment that extends from just north of Alton to south of Springfield. It then resumes just north of Springfield to south of Lincoln. A study is currently being conducted to determine the best route through Springfield. Track upgrades will include the installation of new, high-speed rail and concrete ties.

Work could be completed as early as December 2010.

The improvements will allow passenger rail service from Chicago to St. Louis to operate at speeds up to 110 mph and include: new locomotives and passenger cars, rebuilding of track, additional signaling devices at grade crossings, and implementation of state-of-the-art signal technology.

The $98 million dollar project is funded through the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Pamela Anderson for Peta

This is some of the funniest shit I’ve ever read, and it’s right on point too. Fking brilliant What if every rap song was explained like this:

On a cool, clear night, typical in Southern California, Warren G is traveling around his neighborhood, searching for women to have sex with. He’s chosen to engage in this pursuit alone.

Nate Dogg, however, has just arrived in Long Beach, seeking Warren. Ironically, Nate passes a car full of women who are excited to see him. He insists to the women that there’s no cause for the excitement.

Warren makes a left at 21st Street and Lewis, where he sees a group of young men enjoying a game of dice together. He parks his car and accosts them, excited to find people to play with, but is chagrined when he discovers they intend to pilfer him of his material possessions. Once the hopeful thieves reveal their firearms, Warren realizes he is in a considerable predicament.
