The average person who actually got to know me would definitely say I am very down to earth & easy to talk to. I would say the number one thing I hear a lot from people after they get to know me a little is, “Wow, I feel like I have known you forever.” I think that’s a pretty good quality.

My best friend’s little boy saw one of my pictures online of me winning one of my competitions, and I have this HUGE tiara on my head. Well, needless to say .. he really thinks I am a princess. lol. Isn’t that one of the cutest stories ever. So I guess it’s all a matter of perspective whether or not I reached my childhood dream of becoming a princess. )

How did you get your start in modeling?

Any advice to aspiring models?
Start by getting a portfolio together. You can find many photographers who will do TFP (Trade For Print), which means they will not charge you to shoot with them. Many companies will want to see photos of you when applying for a booking.
When your at a booking, be the best you. Be prompt, be reliable, look your best, be outgoing, & have a great attitude. Leave your ego at the door.
What do you do to stay in shape?
Self-discipline is soooo much of it. I rarely ever drink alcohol (alcohol stops the fat burning process dead in its tracks) .. so I drink only on special occasions .. like a wedding or something of that nature .. but I plan it out .. so maybe once a month or every other month.
I eat 5-6 small meals a day .. making sure I have 20g of protein with every meal and at least 10g of protein with every snack .. don’t eat empty calories… I try to make smart choices that have good nutritional value and will keep me full. (For example – I snack on carrots like crazy … very good for you, they are low in calories, and they’ll keep you full .. same with broccoli, celery, etc.)
As far as exercise goes .. I lift weights ..yes heavy weights … I train 5 days a week .. religiously .. No matter what! No excuses! Even when I travel as much as I do .. So 2 days a week a lift weights and do an all over circuit workout for 30 minutes with no breaks except when switching from one exercise to another. Then thru out the strength training exercises I incorporate some intervals to spike my heart rate .. then afterwards I do 15 minutes of straight intervals (sprints, up downs, jumping rope, etc.)
Then 2 days a week I do constant cardio for 45 minutes .. I will usually split up a session into like 20 minutes of steady running & 25 minutes of staircase/stairmaster .. etc.
Then the 5th day I do a body weight circuit workout. That combines my strength training and cardio into one full session .. that last about 40 minutes.
So as you can see I only spend 45 minutes a day working out .. 5x a week. And as far as abs ..I only do 2 ab exercises and one low back exercise 3x a week at the end of my strength training workouts.
I use to over train in the gym, spending 6 days a week in the gym for 2 hrs at a time .. never saw the results until I got with my trainer who taught me everything I know. So even though it’s only 45 minutes 5x a week .. it’s balls to the walls for 45 minutes .. I mean go hard or go home.
So no real secret, just hard work & a lot of discipline!
